Nedslag - Morten Albæk
- In danish. First Published in 2008.
"Nedslag" ("the fall") is an essay gathering 23 small texts about politics, welfare, education, immigration, globalization, generation gaps, moral, responsibilities, child raising, among many other topics. Straight, provocative, and personal, is Morten Albæk in his analysis of the convergence - and difference - between what we say and do. We love dialogs but don't wish to be talked against by people with a different meaning. We speaks continuously about the utmost importance of children's raising, while giving away our responsibilities to the institutions. Guest speakers write conferences about the so-called "learning society" while being plenty satisfied with the media that are drowning us with information, instead of knowledge.
Nedslag is an invitation to debates, and a defense of the personal responsibility and binding principles of each of us.
-> The author being almost my age, yet younger, a philosopher, while being employed by banks and institutions as an "idea developer", and a Dane, I just thought that I may learn a couple of things... and see confirmed some conclusions of mine... about the society, and my perception of the daily life in Denmark. I did!
