We kind of take it granted, whether in France or Denmark, that wines, beers and alcohol are available about everywhere (supermarkets, gas stations, deli), but in Norway (and Sweden) this is not the case. In Norway, beers can be get everywhere (for a price tag of ca. 10€ per liter!), as a difference with Sweden, but not wine and other beverages. Thus the State owned selling points; "wine monopoly" (vinmonopolet).
